Southwest Building Safety Crisis Rally – Bristol City Hall

Covering Bristol, Portishead and beyond!

Over 40 buildings in Bristol have been found to have historic fire safety defects meaning they are potentially dangerous and require significant remediation.

Leaseholders are being forced to pay for the incompetence of both developers, for failing to comply with building regulations, and the Government, for failing to regulate the industry over many decades.

Some leaseholders are facing bills of over £100,000 and many are now considering bankruptcy.

Confirmed speakers include:

– Thangam Debbonaire (MP for Bristol West)
– Steve Day (Polluter Pays Bill)
– Cllr Alex Hartley (Hotwells & Harbourside)
– Cllr Tom Renhard (Horfield)

Are you planning on organising your own protest? Please do! It is vitally important to keep up the noise. If you do, please let coordinators Chloe or Joanna know at firesafetyjustice@gmail.com. They can offer a wealth of advice if you have never held a protest before. You can find more information here on how to contact them too.

The event is finished.
